Asian Games Hangzhou
Welcome to the exciting launch of the "1,000 Foreigners, 100 Communities Welcome Asian Games Relay Run," which took place this morning, April 20, in Ningbo! This amazing event was guided by the esteemed Organizing Committee of the 19th Asian Games 2022 and the Ningbo Municipal Information Office, showcasing the best of our city's hospitality, diversity, and energy.
The launch ceremony took place at Georgia School, where we kicked off the relay run by following in the footsteps of Asian Games GOLD medallist Wang Chengyi, who ran from the Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre to Georgia School. We were thrilled to be joined by a traditional Tai Chi performance by Georgia School’s international students and the singing of the Hangzhou Asian Games theme song by Georgia’s foreign teachers and the children's choir.
Many foreign families working and studying in Ningbo are becoming increasingly integrated into this culturally rich and modern port city. Head of Georgia School, Mr. Cavon and Overseas Communications Officer of the Ningbo Information Office shares: “The Asian Games is the second largest multi-sport event in the world after the Olympics! The motto "Heart to Heart”, celebrates the deep connections among Asian countries in a new era of advancement and increasing momentum. I encourage the international community of Ningbo to seize the opportunity to participate in this historic event – join us as we cheer on our favorite athletes and celebrate the spirit of the 2022 Asian Games!”
