Moral Education
Friday Tribes is an opportunity for students of different grade levels to come together and learn and develop skills necessary to become a successful and resilient global citizen of this world. No textbook can teach a student how to work well with others, how to handle a problem that they’ve never seen before, how to resolve conflict, how to confidently and clearly communicate to others, and that’s what tribes are all about. Putting students in situations where they can use and practice these critically important skills in this ever-changing modern world is incredibly valuable.
Mr. Noah mentioned that "I believe our students will greatly enjoy this November Friday Tribes. The students in their groups will compete against each other in a treasure hunt. Somewhere on our Georgia School campus, a box filled with treasure and a key to that box will be hidden. Each group is provided with a hint to the location of the box and a hint to the location of the key and they will be tasked with working together and using their critical thinking skills to find the location of the treasure box first before time runs out. This activity perfectly sums up the essence of Friday tribes. Not only are these activities entertaining and fun but they are incredibly interactive, allowing the students to get out of their chairs and use their creativity and critical thinking to work together and explore their environment or create a special and meaningful piece of media or art."
