What Teachers Love About GSN
What makes Georgia School a great place to work at? A successful school blooms from the inside out. At GSN, the heart of the school lies within the exemplary, qualified, and loving teachers that come from several parts of the world, bringing in their diversity and shared love for students.
For students to progress not only in their studies, but also as individuals, teachers and administrators abide by the Five Agreements and support a school culture of respect and collaboration through the Tribes Program. High School Social Studies and AP Psychology teacher, Mr. Zach Gerhard said: “Georgia School students come to us from a variety of different backgrounds. Once they get here, we try to foster a sense of inclusivity using both our Tribes Program and a variety of different curricula to meet their varied learning styles and different learning needs.”
Love and compassion towards students are constant variables in teaching. Love brings patience and understanding, which are vital to nurturing healthy relationships and developing a positive community, and within a community there is often growth and transformation. Secondary School Coordinator, Ms. Darcie Flansburg, shares that “we strive to work hard at being academically proficient but also being the community that can really come together and help each other to grow and adapt, and become better versions of ourselves.”
