GSN Art Exhibit
Georgia School was invited by the Ningbo Bang Museum to exhibit student artwork from KG through Grade 12. GSN delivers a creative and innovative Visual Art program to all students from kindergarten, primary, middle, and high school; following a dynamic curriculum focused on independent thinking, self-expression and creation, in line with research-based methodologies.
Art students at each grade level follow sequence of age-appropriate academic units in which historical and contemporary analytical skills are taught, including the ability to investigate, define, analyze, and formulate imaginative ideas. Students learn to create, understand, and manipulate media, and the ability to complete and present artworks or projects.
GSN’s Art teacher, Ms. Samantha Clegg, has lived in Ningbo for eight years and is a resourceful and innovative teaching professional highly trained in a wide array of artistic mediums. Ms. Samantha possesses a strong commitment to the development of students as well as providing an engaging, safe, and supportive learning environment for all GSN Lions. As an Art teacher, she believes that “all students are capable of producing exceptional and creative artwork at any age, and my job is to inspire and empower them to think and work like artists. I help students gain the skills they need to communicate their ideas effectively and to make art that is meaningful to them. Encouraging creativity in children gives them the opportunities to explore, express and communicate their feelings, and help them to grow socially, mentally and emotionally.”
