Reading Is the Way to Grow
Georgia School Ningbo emphasizes reading as an essential academic requirement. The campus includes purpose-built areas designed to meet the learning needs of students, which includes a well-resourced library filled with non-fiction and fiction books for children of all ages.
GSN’s librarian, Mr. Darren Panahi, conducts several Library classes each week. Students are able to learn about how the books are organized on the shelves, how to search for library books through their codes, and they also have the opportunity to discuss different stories that have been read by classmates. And GSN’s library provides a cozy and comfortable space for students to enjoy a quiet place to read.
GSN also holds relevant events related to reading both on and off campus, such as Kids Read and Battle of Books. Not only does this encourage students to read, but it also nurtures that practice of reading throughout the week, allowing kids to flourish with vocabulary and enhance their writing skills.
