Georgia SkatesGiving 2020
On Saturday, November 21st, Georgia School held a family-friendly “Skatesgiving” event at its SBSX (Skateboard Supercross) Skatepark. Expanding on the themes of appreciation and gratitude from the Thanksgiving holiday, Skatesgiving integrates skateboarding and family fun into a uniquely GEORGIA festival style event.
Open to the public, GSN’s Skatesgiving event hosted many new guests as well as family, teachers and students from the GSN school community. People of all ages came together to enjoy a variety of games, food and creative activities. Participants also chance to enjoy skating at the park and to test their golf driving skills at the Georgia Golf Academy.
Georgia High School students volunteered to serve as safety patrols around the park and as guides for the games and activities. Grade 12 student Kahlil, said “I enjoyed interacting with students of all ages and helping to pull together a wonderful GSN Skatesgiving experience for everyone.” Another Grade 12 student Jaemin shared that he had, “never expected that volunteering could be so exciting!” Grade 10 student Talia, said “I am beyond grateful for having this opportunity to interact with skateboard and golf enthusiasts of all ages, from all over Ningbo. I think this was a very successful festival and am looking forward to future events like this!” The volunteer service of these Georgia Lion Volunteers was a key component in ensuring the safety and success of the event.
By all accounts, GSN Skatesgiving Fest 2020 was a huge success! Stay tuned to GSN for more Ningbo family fun events in the near future!
