GSN Choir
The event took place at the Ningbo Talent House and provided a range of activities for visitors to enjoy including kite crafting, paper carving, rice cake making, tea tasting and sugar art! The children were all excited to participate in this meaningful celebration of local culture. As Grade 4 student Grace Wu, shared, “There are so many people here and we will sing for all of them! I am not nervous because I really like to sing together with my friends.” The theme of the ceremony was focused on love and pride for the city of Ningbo and an appreciation of all of Ningbo’s unique characteristics.
GSN’s Grade 4 and Grade 5 performed with excellence as they sang the popular Chinese song My Motherland, with a few added lines in Hebrew, Korean, and Portuguese. The event culminated with students inviting guests to join them on stage to sing the chorus of this touching song together in unity, concluding the event with a heartwarming feeling of friendship.
As GSN’s Music teacher, Mr. Chris Burtt, mentioned to students, "I am extremely proud of our students for their commitment, hard work, and the sacrifices they made to help make our performance at the China Daily Readers' Club (Ningbo) & Fans Festival very successful! We at Georgia are especially proud of this opportunity to showcase both the talents and diversity of our student (and teacher) population at this event by singing in multiple languages and waving the flags for each of the countries we represent, as well as that of the wonderful country which hosts us - China."
Congratulations on representing Georgia School and its multi-cultural community, Lions!
