Week Without Walls 2023
The name “Week Without Walls” reflects on the belief that education and learning processes should not be limited to the classroom environment. The real-world connection and hands-on experience are proven methods of better learning. GSN’ s Week Without Walls program is an exciting educational excursion taken each year. During this educational outing, students participate in service learning, team building, cultural exploration and outdoor activities with peers and teachers.
GSN partners with an international travel agency that provides multiple chaperones, trained in First Aid safety procedures, to accompany students through all activities. This year, the destination is Inner Mongolia. GSN’s secondary students had an in-depth understanding of the local culture, participated in tree planting and other public welfare activities, learned practical skills such as tent building, and communicated with teachers and students of Inner Mongolia schools.
During the Week Without Walls 2023, students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 also participated in a variety of activities in and out of school. Kids learnt to program and created their own avatars and mini programs, got familiar with the musical instrument, and music theory, participated in the whole process of song recording at a recording studio, and attended the "Old Ningbo" cultural course brought by Ningbo Museum, "approaching" Ningbo, this modern city with the traditional heritage...... Through a week of activities and learning, from information technology, photography aesthetics, creative life, and other related activities, the school cultivates children's artistic appreciation, imagination, and creativity, stimulates interest, and opens the door to explore the world!
